There are quite a lot of choices and decisions to make before purchasing an engagement ring. Cut, clarity, size, an the list goes on. Before purchasing a diamond, it is important to consider cost, quality, and overall appeal. But with so many unique characteristics to take into account, selecting a diamond that fits your preferred taste and style can be tricky. Regardless of whether you’re searching for an engagement ring with a flower motif or more of a vintage style to it the moissanite shape usually plays an important role in the purchase process. This article is going to look more deeply into the different moissanite shapes and what to consider when purchasing that specific shape.
Round cut moissanite engagement ring by Ralph Jacobs
This is probably the most common of the moissanite shapes, yet the most popular shaped, because of the versatility of the silhouette. With various faceted patterns, the round cut diamond is known for unrivaled brilliance resulting from its 360-degree symmetrical shape, which allows for maximum light reflection.
This cutmoissanite a drop of water with a pointed tip. The pear-shapedmoissanite is a modern, trendy alternative to some of the more traditional shapes. One reason this diamond has seen a rise in popularity is due to its versatility; it can be worn with the point facing up or down, offering the wearer two different looks.
The cushion cut diamond is square in shape with rounded corners that give the stone its pillow-like appearance. This diamond shape evokes a vintage feel, having been around for over 200 years. The cushion cut diamond is less brilliant than round cut diamonds, but tends to have better color in the light, also known as fire.
9 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?
12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.
16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
Once you get engaged and until you are married get ready for many “How did you ask?” And as superficial as it sounds, how you get engaged matter. When thinking about how to propose to your partner, the most important thing to consider is whether he or she would like it. If you don’t think they’d dig a fancy dinner or flash mob proposal, here are six creative ways to pop the question.
1. Create a Scavengerhunt
If you have a fun-loving, kooky partner this could totally make their day! Scavenger hunts are a creative way to propose because you can customize them based on where you are, what your girlfriend or boyfriend likes, and how much time you can devote to planning.
You could pick a few significant locations, get some friends and family involved, and write down the clues. You should be waiting to propose at the final location.
Whether you decide to go with Moissanites or Diamonds, a well-planned Treasure hunt is always a great idea.
Create magic with a custom treasure hunt.
2. Film a Proposal Video
Some people propose by creating a short film that highlights significant moments in their relationship, as well as giving your lover a preview of what’s to come. You can film yourself talking about how you envision your future life together and what your goals are. At the end of the video you can romantically place the words “Will you marry me?” and wait for their reaction.
3. Make a Board Game
This falls in the same proposal genre of the scavenger hunt, because this requires your partner to get active and participate. It’s not too difficult to create your own trivia board game. Simply make handwritten cards, co-opt dice or timers from old board games, and include typed instructions for an authentic game experience. You and your partner can take turns selecting cards, asking each other questions about your relationship and discussing your goals for the future. When your significant other draws the final card, it should read: “Will you marry me?”
4. The Fun Box
If you and your partner have a fun, out-there relationship this is the proposal for you! Get a big. big box and play jumping Jack. Cut the bottom out of a very large box then wrap it. Take it to her place of work and ask one of her colleague’s to go get her telling her that there is a large parcel for her. Meanwhile you climb in from the bottom and when she unwraps it jump out with the ring in hand and ask her to make an honest man of you.
5. Message in a Bottle
If you live close to the ocean or a large body of water, write a note in which you ask your partner to marry you and place the note in the bottle. Take her/him to the beach and once they’re not looking pick the bottle up from the beach and ask them to open it to see what it says. Go down on your knee and see their reaction once they look up.

6. The Windscreen Proposal
This one is extremely easy and simple. During the winter when it’s cold and cars’ windscreens ice up, go out before he/she leaves for work or school and scrape “Will you marry me?” in the ice of her windscreen.
7. Oyster at a Restaurant
If your partner loves shell food this proposal is for you! Get some oysters from the store and treat your lover with homemade oysters in bed and pop the ring inside one of them.

As kind kon ek my verwonder hoe sy by kasregisters elke item in haar kop optel terwyl die kassiere dit oplui.
Daarom was sy altyd baie professioneel aangetrek.
My eerste ma was ook ‘n uithalerkok.
Nou het ek my tweede ma.
Dis reg as ma dae lank in pajamas rondloop. Dis reg as ma se woonstel soos ‘n ouetehuis ruik. Dis reg as ma stadig loop en oral aan my vasklou. Dis reg as ma dieselfde stories oor en oor vertel.
Ek het twee ma’s, en altwee is myne.

That ring you are dreaming about, with the most beautiful diamond, might not be a real diamond. Now you are wondering -“But how? It looks exactly like a real diamond!” In this blog we are going to explain Moissanite, why choose moissanite and what is moissanite.
Moissanite was born to humans when a meteorite fell to Earth. The crater left on the earth’s surface was examined by French Chemist Henri Moissan (whose name the gemstone bears) in 1893. Initially, Henri mistakenly identified the crystals in the meteor as Diamonds, but in 1904 he identified the crystals as silicon carbide. The gemstone Moissanite’s is a naturally occurring silicon carbide and its various crystalline polymorphs.
The moissanitesjewelers use is lab-grown (Mining free), less expensive per carat than many other gemstones (Value), and is a 9.25 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness, so it is suitable for everyday wear. (Durability)
A Moissanites faceting pattern is different than a diamonds, it exhibit a different kind of brilliance than diamonds do. Moissanite’s heightened brilliance can create a “disco ball” effect, especially in sunlight, somewhat like rainbow colors. The bigger the moissanite, the more likely it is that the difference will be noticeable. Moissanite has a refractive index from 2.65 – 2.69, which is higher than a diamond.
3.) Color
While moissanites are labeled as “colorless”, the gem can still prject colors such as yellow or greyish hue in certain lights. Like said above, the bigger the moissanite, the more noticeable the color.
4.) Price
Moissanite are dramatically lower in price as the same size diamond will be. Moissanite prices differ mainly on the size of the moissanite.
Because moissanites are grown in a controlled environments using some of the most advanced tegnology, moissanites require absolutely no mining to produce. Compared to other natural gemstones, lab created moissanites have a smaller carbon footprint that results in less environmental impact.
If you didn’t know it before, you do now: engagement rings are NOT one size fits all. It is quite possible that you have actually experienced this personally when you’ve tried on a friend or family member’s pear-shaped engagement ring, only to realize it doesn’t look quite right on you for some reason.
It is because of this that you should be aware of what type, shape, and size ring will look best on your hands. If you’re curious about what might be the most flattering on your unique ring finger, you can follow our guide below, where we discuss different finger and hand shapes and sizes.
1. Long and lean fingers
The wonderful news for all you long and lean fingered human beings is that you can rock basically any shaped rock on your fingers. However, if you really want to hammer down on that perfect engagement ring shape we would suggest oval or round. Moissanite or Diamond will do the perfect job here.
2. Short fingers
Marquise shaped engagement ring by Ralph Jacobs
All you beautiful short-fingered ladies, all we can say is LENGTH! Get yourself any shaped ring with an elongated length that could assist in elaborating the length of your fingers.
3. Wide fingers
Emerald cut moissanite engagement ring by Ralph Jacobs
If you have wider fingers, you need to start convincing your partner that bigger is better! You will need a cluster setting and a larger band to take up more space on your hand, and something elongated such as an emerald cut to create length. A petite setting and thin band will make your fingers appear wider, and could appear smaller on your finger. There is many ways one can use your hand shape to your advantage.
4. Small hands
Petite and dainty engagement ring by Ralph Jacobs
If you have small hands, your ring options are the opposite of someone with wider fingers. On the contrary huge diamonds can look a little overbearing on small hands. You can go for a smaller diamond to strike the right balance, or opt for a gorgeous, diamond-encrusted ring with no center stone at all like the Ralph Jacobs band above.
5. Large hands
Halo styled engagement ring by Ralph Jacobs
If you have large hands, think big and bold. Halo styles or detailed bands will play best to your proportions.

Mpumalanga government urged to investigate the irregular appointment of traffic officers by Trudie Grovè-Morgan: MPL – DA Spokesperson on Community, Safety, Security and Liaison
The Democratic Alliance (DA) is calling on Mpumalanga’s MEC of Community, Safety, Security and Liaison, Gabisile Tshabalala, and the premier, Hon Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, to conduct a full investigation into allegations about the irregular appointment of 97 traffic officers.
Tshabalala and Mtshweni-Tsipane’s silence is deafening while nepotism and corruption is eating into the core of the province. We want answers.
This sort of scandal is not the first of its kind in Mpumalanga. In January 2020, the DA unveiled that senior officials of the ANC in Emalahleni Local Municipality appointed 20 individuals irregularly – some of which were their family members!
Corruption and nepotism done by the ANC has become so rampant that it continues to hire individuals with not even the minimum requirement of a matric certificate and drivers licences as traffic officers.
The DA will not turn a blind eye while corruption and nepotism continue to deprive those who are qualified and capable to work of job opportunities.
Rhodium plating is part of the family of Platinum, which means they are also a precious metal – considered the rarest and most valuable precious metal in the world. Rhodium is a silver-white metallic element that is highly reflective and resistant to corrosion. Rhodium is also a very brittle metal, meaning rhodium plating alone can’t be used for manufacturing an Engagement Ring, Rhodium can easily crack and break, almost like glass.
However, Rhodium is prefect for plating jewelry. When plating jewelry with Rhodium, it enhances the durability of the metal which is plated with Rhodium.
2.) Is it necessary to plate my Engagement Ring?
Rhodium Plating is used to enhance the durability, luster and light reflection of a piece of jewelry. Because Rhodium is such a hard metal, when an item is plated/coated with Rhodium, the piece will be more scratch resistant. Rhodium plating is used to get a more white finish that we all love, it also enhances the shine and brilliance of diamonds and moissanites. Basically, Rhodium plating is a coating that enhances the entire look and durability of your Engagement Ring At the end of the day, it’s up to you whether to Rhodium plate or not.
Rhodium is plated using an electroplating process. For an Engagement Ring to be Rhodium Plated, it must first be thoroughly cleaned for the reason that if there is any dirt left on the Engagement ring, the rhodium plating will not hold. Distilled water, steam cleaning and electro cleaning are some ways that the item is cleaned before it is dipped into the rhodium solution. A positive electrical charge is then used to fuse the rhodium onto the base metal. Care must be taken, because if the electric current is too high, the rhodium plating will turn black. The process takes roughly around an hour and a half to be completed.
Many people believe that Rhodium Plating is permanent, which is not entirely true. While it is a permanent metal, when used to plate an Engagement Ring, if suffers wear and tear with exposure.
Because Moissanites are high up in the Mohs scale (9.5) and Diamonds (10), nothing will happen when Rhodium Plating your Diamond or Moissanite Engagement Ring. Other softer gem stones such as pearls, opals and treated or heavily included rubies and emeralds can be damaged during the process. These gemstones, and many others, are not able to cope with the sulfuric acids and heat in the electroplating solutions and their surfaces can be damaged, becoming spotty and studded.
Rhodium Plating in not a permanent solution, its bound to wear off over time and depending on how you wear and care for your Engagement Ring. There are some things you can do to make it last as long as possible.
– Avoid rubbing the rhodium plating on your ring. For example, constantly washing your hands can wear it off quicker. – Avoid exposing your jewelry to harsh chemicals such as household cleaning products. Always take off your jewelry when dealing with chemicals or wear rubber gloves to protect your rings. – Take your jewelry off when swimming in heavily chlorinated swimming pools as the chlorine can damage the plating. – Perfumes and cosmetics can also affect rhodium plating. Avoid contact with these and wipe away any residue if it does come into contact.
Because rhodium is very rare and expensive, plating is somewhat costly. Re-plating a white gold ring can cost around R400.00, but prices vary based on the quality of the rhodium, the jeweler’s skills and the size of the jewelry.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) calls on the provincial government of Mpumalanga to intervene in the crumbling state of finances of municipalities in the province.
This statement was released by Trudie Grovè-Morgan: MPL – DA Spokesperson on CoGTA
Trudie Grovè-Morgan: MPL – DA Spokesperson on CoGTA
It is with great concern that we note this dilapidated state in a number of municipalities in the province – most of which begun to break down since late 2016 as a result of the ANC-led government’s inability to render services to residents, a growing debt to external entities as well as a complete failure of these municipalities to draw an income.
The DA previously wrote to the former MEC of COGTA and current Premier, Hon Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, detailing the financial crisis and asked her to place the Emalahleni Local Municipality under administration when its bill owed to Eskom had led to an exorbitant R1 billion. Her failure to do so resulted in this financial crisis spiraling out of control and the growth of this debt by R3.6 billion.
This funding could have been redirected to the poor service delivery in the municipality.
To date, municipalities like Emalahleni, Govan Mbeki, Lekwa and Thaba Chweu continuously struggle with aspects of revenue generation, debt collection policies, frequent meter readings and the resultant paying off creditors on time and within agreed amounts, despite the adoption and implementation of financial recovery plans.
As of the 31st of October 2020, Emalahleni was owed R5.3 billion for the provision of services and in turn, the municipality owed Eskom R4.6 billion. Over the same time period, Thaba Chweu owed the entity R827 million.
As a result of this debt, the above-mentioned two municipalities and many other municipalities in our province often find themselves on Eskom’s disconnection list. Recently, a case was brought up by various interested parties in Emalahleni and Thaba Chweu which sought to challenge the legality of power supply interruptions over unpaid debt. In this case, the Supreme Court of Appeal Deputy President Xola Petse wrote that “what this means is that without national and provincial governments intervention in the financial crises experienced by ELM, TCLM and many other similarly situated municipalities- all are doomed”.
Given the above analogy and the fact that our Constitution makes provision for national and provincial governments to intervene when a municipality is struggling to live up to its constitutional mandates; the DA reiterates its call on this provincial government to deal with the financial crisis.
