POLICE KILLER ARRESTED BY HAWKS AND K9 UNITS
A 30-year-old suspected police killer has been arrested in a joint collaboration with the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation based in Secunda and Secunda K9 in Evander.
It is reported that on 18 February 2022, the late police officer, WO Hlatshwayo was attacked and shot while entering his home by unknown suspects. The victim was transported by to a Provincial hospital in Piet Retief and later to Trichardt Medi Clinic in critical condition for treatment. The member later succumbed to his injuries.

An investigation into the brutal murder of the warrant officer was conducted and one of the suspects was identified.
Yesterday, 18 May 2023, the investigating team followed up on information on the whereabouts of the suspect and arrested him in Evander.
More arrests are expected. The suspect will appear in the Piet Retief Magistrates’ Court soon.
