23 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2 The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4 And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5 Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
6 But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
7 But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.
8 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
9 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
10 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the Lord wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
12 But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the Lord wrought a great victory.
13 And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
14 And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
15 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
16 And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord.
17 And he said, Be it far from me, O Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
19 Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
20 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21 And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
23 He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
24 Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
25 Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26 Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27 Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28 Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29 Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30 Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31 Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32 Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33 Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,
34 Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
35 Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36 Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37 Zelek the Ammonite, Nahari the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,

Titel is “Topswaar”
Daar is vreeslik baie sepieaanhangers.
Alles so eg, so werklik.
Maar wanneer jy by so ‘n skyngebou instap, ontdek jy dis nóg steen, nóg beton, maar bloot net geverfde karton.
Maar wanneer jy by so ‘n skyngebou instap, ontdek jy dis nóg steen, nóg beton, maar bloot net geverfde karton.
So is baie mense se lewens ook. Hulle lewe so maklik twee lewens. Ek is in beheer.
As dit so is, dan lewe mens gevaarlik.
Dieselfde ding het so week gelede in Carletonville gebeur.
So leef ons soms onbewustelik as sinkgatmense.
‘n Sagte hand teen jou wang beteken meer as ‘n afslaandakmotor waarin jy alleen rondjaag. Sagwees kweek deernis. Sagte woorde is meer werd as ‘n goeie adres.
Jy verryk my ervaring van menswees.
It’s L & A’s 1st Fashion Friday article, bringing you the best ways to style your basic t-shirts. Every Friday you can expect an article about anything and everything fashion!
Did you know fashion does not only include clothing and shoes? Fashion is a general term for a popular style or practice. This can be anything from clothing, shoes, hairstyles, car interior, furniture, body piercing, make-up and the list goes on!
T-shirts are just the best, it’s a staple item everybody should have in their wardrobe. And the best thing about t-shirts are how versatile they really are – one wouldn’t think that looking at a basic tee.
They come in all shapes, sizes, styles and colours. From an over-sized melange to a cropped black and a distressed white to an olive t-shirt dress, these items are sent from fashion heaven.
Now that we have convinced you to go buy a basic t-shirt or to rummage through the desolate areas of your closet for the long-abandoned tee, it’s time to look at the different ways this t-shirt can be worn.
With Distressed Jeans
This is a very comfortable way to wear your basic t-shirt. Pairing your tee with a distressed jean is perfect for a Saturday flea market shopping spree or Sunday brunch.
With Striped-Pattern Pants
Adding some flair to your basic tee. It is easy to dress a t-shirt up by wearing it with eccentric pieces, such as patterned bottoms.
Blazer & Suit Pants
Wear your basic t-shirt more fashionable by adding it to a blazer and suit ensemble. A t-shirt doesn’t have to be worn only with comfortable, relaxing outfits. It can definitely be dressed up with the right pieces. Wear your basic t-shirt to your next business meeting with a blazer and suit pants!
Floral Skirt
An easy way to add some feminine flair to your basic tee is by wearing it with a floral skirt. Not only will the skirt feminise your tee, but will add a splash of colour to it. This is the perfect outfit to wear to a music festival.
Khaki Shorts
You can never go wrong with pairing your basic tee with khaki shorts. Not only are khaki shorts extremely comfortable, but it pushes the boundaries and adds a touch of style to a basic t-shirt. Try this outfit at the next spring picnic.

In a world where instant gratification is sought after, the term natural beauty is a concept that is lost in translation. Today it is all about how many likes and loves you have on your post and the amount of likes and loves determine your beauty according to social culture in today’s world.
Since social media has taken over our lives and the world, natural beauty is something of the past. It is all about the perfect photo – lighting, makeup, setting and destination – on our social media pages to ensure that we gain more followers, likes and loves.
It has been more prevalent in the last few years that natural beauty has made a comeback – the “I just woke up like this” look and the #nomakeup trend – but it is still frowned upon (in some way) in society for a woman to go out in public with no makeup and her hair un-coiffed.
I completely disagree with the view of society that a woman always has to have a full face of makeup and her hair perfectly coiffed. That is why I asked men, from all cultures, backgrounds and spectrums of life, for their opinion.
The question that they were presented with was: What does natural beauty mean to you?
The answer was unanimous: beauty comes from the inside, looks are only skin deep.
Ané rocking the natural look while out and about in England
Along with that answer, most of the men also added the following:
Someone with a pure soul – she takes care of herself but not embarrassed to admit she cares too much about others
Someone who is spontaneous
Someone who is friendly
Someone who is not scared to take a risk
Someone who is not scared to make a joke nor is she scared to make a joke about herself and still laugh
Someone that truly laughs from her stomach out loud
Someone that is open minded
Someone that has opinions and not afraid to share those opinions
Lize rocking natural on a hike
These things are all easy to read and most women know this but the reality of the fact is that there are too many games that are played, too many voices that whisper in your ear and too many insecurities in today’s world because according to social media you have to look a certain way, act a certain way and beauty is defined by your likes and loves on your posts.
As women we forget that nothing has really changed since the late 1800s when women used to “drop” their handkerchief in front of a man they thought suitable. The man would pick up and return her handkerchief and, like in today’s world, the woman would smile, giggle shyly and a conversation would be started.
As women, we forget two things: women used to pinch their cheeks to have some colour in their faces and social media did not exist!
When I was interviewing the men, it was clear that even though we live in an extremely superficial world, it was more important to the men that a woman should be able to be herself, laugh about stupid things and not be scared to laugh at herself.
Lize loving herself and always encouraging women to do the same
Most, if not all the men, also said that there is nothing sexier than a woman who is comfortable in her own skin; no makeup, tracksuit pants and an oversized t-shirt with a messy bun but in the same breath they said a woman who dresses up and takes care of herself is just as sexy – the best of both worlds.
It all comes down to balance – to have a balance in life is what we all strive for.
In a world where we, as women, have to look a certain way, act a certain way and always have to be on top of our game, I say: “No! Be the best you can be and stop worrying about what social media tells you to be, what to look like and how to act!”
If today you feel like jeans, a t-shirt, sneakers, no makeup and your hair in a bun, that is your sexy today and the world will see it! Sexy and comfortable in your own skin is something only you can determine. Sexy is what you feel sexy in and not what some post on Instagram or Facebook told you that you should feel sexy in.
Ané supporting the #nomakeup movement
Natural beauty is the fact that as women we are not all built the same, we have different body types and that is perfectly fine. A style that looks amazing on a social media model or your friend, does not necessarily suit your body type. In the same breath, something that looks breath-taking on you might not suit your friend and that is OK!
Natural beauty is being you, being comfortable with yourself and once that beauty shines out from within you, it will blind those around because you are GORGEOUS!

The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation in Mpumalanga appeals to the public to help in locating 40 year-old S’fiso Johannes Khumalo whom is believed can assist in an ongoing investigation into Rockdale Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) houses fraud case.
S’fiso Johannes Khumalo
It is alleged that in October 2018, Sylvia Nyandeni (43), an employee of Steve Tshwete Municipality allegedly colluded with Khumalo to defraud applicants of RDP houses in Middelburg. Nyandeni misrepresented herself as having the authority to receive money from the destitute applicants.
The defrauded victims were given a bank account of Khumalo to deposit the funds which amounted to just over R700 000. The pair reportedly shared the proceeds afterwards.
The court ordered that Khumalo appear alongside Nyandeni on the follow-up date which was scheduled for 20 August 2020, he was informed accordingly but he once again absconded.
The court consequently issued a warrant of arrest against Khumalo. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the investigating officer in the case, Sergeant Amos Mahlangu on 071 481 3069 or contact Crime stop 0860 010111 or by sending a tip off via MySAPSApp. All information received will be treated with the strictest confidence.
