POLICE LAUNCH A MANHUNT FOLLOWING AN INCIDENT IN WHICH A MAN FROM TAXI INDUSTRY WAS SHOT AND KILLED AT THE MILIVA TAXI RANK

NELSPRUIT – Police in Mpumalanga have launched a vigorous manhunt for ruthless suspects following a despicable incident in which a 42-year-old man who was working in the taxi industry as a taxi owner, also held an executive position within the leadership structure, was unfortunately shot execution-style, Friday 23 April 2021 at Miliva traffic circle few meters away from the Miliva taxi rank in Tweefontein.

The man was shot by a group of heavily armed men who were driving in a white Ford Fiesta who fired several shots at him while he was sitting in his car, a silver-grey Toyota Yaris. The assailants thereafter fled the scene, leaving him bleeding profusely. The victim was then taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Recently, 39-year-old France Oupa Manamela, a Taxi Marshall, was gunned down execution-style at the Miliva taxi rank. The incident occurred on 01 March 2021.

Taxi Shooting

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot by four suspects driving in a silver VW Polo. They fled the scene immediately after committing this heinous act and are still at large.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Kenny Sipho Mahlangu, a taxi driver, was shot and killed at Tweefontein on 07 March 2021. Details around this incident reveal that Mahlangu was driving in a white Isuzu bakkie when he was attacked. On the said day, it is alleged that he was followed by a certain Toyota Run-X and shots were fired from the said vehicle which resulted in him being fatally wounded.

Two other victims were both gunned down on 15 March 2021. At about 17h30, Jeremia Nkosinathi Chabangu, aged 44 was shot and killed by a group of suspects whilst sitting inside a Mercedes Benz Minibus at Kwamhlanga Crossroad. The suspects then fled the scene in a white VW Golf 7.

Whilst 65-year-old Piet Mahlangu was shot and killed around 20h40 during the time when he was with his family at home. The incident occurred at Boekenhouthoek near Kwaggafontein and two suspects are said to have been seen wearing balaclavas earlier. They then fled the scene in a white Toyota Quantum after the incident. His wife also sustained some injuries on her leg.

Police urge anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact Detective Lieutenant Colonel Difaga John Malope at 0824417591 or call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111. Alternatively, members of the public can send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.

VEEHANTERING NOU BELANGRIKER AS OOIT – NWKV BIED KURSUS AAN IN CAROLINA

Veehantering

“Regain Your Hope” by Anton Knoetze

Secunda Reformed Church Morning Service 25 April 2021

Lamentations 3-4 – King James Version

I Am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.

Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.

My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

Also read: Secunda Reformed Church morning service 18 April 2021

He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.

He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.

10 He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.

11 He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.

12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

13 He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.

14 I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.

15 He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.

16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.

17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.

18 And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the Lord:

19 Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

28 He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

29 He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

30 He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.

31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever:

32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.

35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,

36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.

37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord.

41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.

43 Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.

45 Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.

46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

47 Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

48 Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49 Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission.

50 Till the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.

51 Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

52 Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.

54 Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.

55 I called upon thy name, O Lord, out of the low dungeon.

56 Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

57 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.

58 O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

59 O Lord, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.

60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.

61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O Lord, and all their imaginations against me;

62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

63 Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.

64 Render unto them a recompence, O Lord, according to the work of their hands.

65 Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.

66 Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the Lord.

How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.

The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!

Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.

They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.

For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.

Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:

Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.

They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.

10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.

11 The Lord hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.

12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.

13 For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,

14 They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

15 They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.

16 The anger of the Lord hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.

17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.

18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.

19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.

20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the Lord, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.

21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.

22 The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.

Diamond Engagement Ring by Ralph Jacobs

The diamond, composed solely of carbon, is the hardest gemstone and can be cut only by another diamond. Diamonds form about 90 miles deep in Earth.

It is believed that the first engagement ring that contained a diamond was given in 1477 by Archduke Maximilian of Austria to his fiancée, Mary of Burgundy. Today, diamonds are the most popular choice of stone for an engagement ring.

The largest known diamond is 2,500 miles wide and weighs approximately 10 billion trillion trillion carats.

Diamond symbolizes everlasting love. It was also once thought to protect against poison. It is believed that the person wearing a diamond will be protected from negative energies and brought peace.

Not a diamond gal? Why not opt for the more affordable, and completely conflict-free diamond alternative – moissanite? Head over to our blog about moissanites to read more on this unique diamond alternative.

MPUMALANGA MASTER OF HIGH COURT AND HER COMPANION BACK IN COURT FOR TRIAL ON FRAUD CHARGES

MPUMALANGA – The Mpumalanga Master of High Court Bina Masuku(46) and her companion Elvis Kgosiemang (37), arrested by the Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team on the 07 November 2019 for Fraud, Corruption, Money Laundering and Contravention of the Immigration Act appeared before the Nelspruit Commercial Crime Court for trial on Wednesday 21 April 2021.

The two accused in court today. Bina Masuku (46) and Elvis Kgosiemang (37)

The arrest followed the investigation which was launched by the Serious Commercial Crime Investigations probing the alleged siphoning of claimants funds from the Masters office for almost two years.

It was established that the senior official allegedly directed claimants to her unqualified “ lawyer’’ boyfriend to process the claims. Some claimants never received their monies, instead it was shared amongst the two. Approximately R1.7 Million has since disappeared from twelve families.

The enquiries have revealed that the boyfriend is not a lawyer and she misrepresented the state by claiming to be a South African.

The Department of Home Affairs’ Immigration Division has finalised their investigation into her status in the country.

Celebrations as Rootz Boutique turns 6

It was all pomp and glamour as Rootz Boutique Spa celebrated its sixth anniversary last week.

Quests were dressed up in evening gear in celebration of what Rootz Boutique spa means for beauty in our area.

The Rootz website states the following, ”We provide guests with a tranquil setting where guests can enjoy true pampering allowing us to take you back to your Rootz,” and looking at the Boutique it projects just that. A wonderful place of relaxation and pampering.

Andile Mntungwa (owner of Rootz Boutique Spa) said in her welcoming speech that she wanted to thank God. “I want to thank God,” she said, “I truly believe that there is nothing special about me, I feel all of this is just the favour of God in my life.”

“Growing up, I’ve always loved beauty,” said Andile, “I used to attend a few beauty pageants and loved everything beauty.”

“I always said, a bit shy at times that I wanted to become Miss South Africa. I thought that it was a real career.”

Andile welcoming everyone to the celebrations

Andile did beauty part-time while following her career as an engineer, all the time doing beauty courses. She also opened a little spa at home only to realise that one cannot work two jobs and had to make a decision when the opportunity for Rootz Boutique Spa came up.

“I grabbed it with both hands and ran with it. It was always my dream to be here.”

Vaneshrie Chetty Marketing Manager at Graceland said that “Andile added a little spice to the Boutique.”

“We are quite honoured to have the added value of Rootz at Graceland.”

Fofo Lerefolo, CEO Jalang Peo Media, was a guest speaker at the celebrations. Fofo has an impressive journalism history even being stationed in Palestine.

Celebrate the Reinheitsgebot at Lake Umuzi

Celebrate the signing of the Beer Purity Law/Reinheitsgebot this Friday

This Friday, we celebrate 505 years since the signing of the Reinheitsgebot (beer purity law); a regulation that mandates which ingredients are allowed for the brewing of beer. In 1516, the first German Beer Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot), was promulgated in Munich by Albert IV, Duke of Bavaria, stating that beer should be brewed from only three ingredients – water, malt and hops.

Albert IV, Duke of Bavaria

Lake Umuzi Waterfront are proud to have 2 very different brewing companies on the premises.

The Lake Umuzi Brewing Company, brews most of their beers in an English style, with the exception of the Weiss beer that is made to the original German Style. The Lake Umuzi Brewing Company has been the supplier of the hand-crafted eish!! Brew for the past 4 years, and will soon move into their own premises on the new extension adjacent to the Dros.

Homebrew Lab, the latest addition to Lake Umuzi Waterfront, is part gin-distillery and part beer-brewery. Half of the hand-crafted beers are made in a Belgian Style and the other 50% is brewed in an American Style.

Read more about the Reinheitsgebot HERE

On Friday, 23 April 2021, Radio Kalahari Orkes (RKO) will return to eish!! Restaurant to celebrate the signing of the Reinheitsgebot, 505 years ago. To ensure a festive celebration, the entrance fee to the show is free, thanks to the generous assistance by TWK Agri Insurance, a leading provider of short-term insurance in the Secunda area. The performance can be viewed from eish!! or Homebrew Lab’s deck overlooking the eish!! stage.

Radio Kalahari Orkes

Local talent, Marichelle, will kick off the day from 15h00 and sing in various intervals throughout the evening. Radio Kalahari Orkes will take to the stage from 18h00 and again from 20h00. This will give you an opportunity to enjoy dinner at any one of the restaurants at Lake Umuzi Waterfront, while not missing out on the performance by RKO.

Marichelle

In celebration of this momentous moment, Bosveld Lapa Restaurant will have a cocktail and sushi special.  Enjoy a delectable beer-battered hake at Ocean Basket or an ice-cold Windhoek draught at Dros brewed in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot. For one day only Homebrew Lab will sell all their hand-crafted draught beers for only R29.00 on tap.

Prost to the vision of the Duke of Bavaria to bring us quality beer for the last 505 years!

So is die Lewe: Ek rus my saak, Edelagbare.

Natuurlik was daar nie gesofistikeerde kledingstukke soos swemkostuums of handdoeke of onderbroeke byderhand nie.

so is die lewe

Ek rus my saak, edelagbare.

Bethal: Yesterday, 2021-04-19, at about 18:45 a woman on her way to the hospital gave birth to a healthy baby boy in front of the police station on the side of the road, whereby Sergeant Itumeleng Motalane, who was on duty and Constable Tilane Lebitsa who was off duty had to act as midwives.

The incident happened after a member of the public came to the police station for his documents to be certified and noticed a woman with a man walking past the police station and heard a woman crying for help. He then alerted the police about a pregnant woman on the street and looked like she was about to go into labour.

Sergeant Motalane quickly left the Community Service Centre to help the lady in labour. Motalane and her colleague rushed to the scene and find a 35-year-old woman, who was accompanied by her partner, about to give birth right on the street.

While Sergeant Motalane was attending to the woman, she asked Constable Lebitsa to rush into her room to get a blanket.

However, when the colleague returned, she found that a baby, a boy, had already been born and mother and child were doing well. Motalane, who has been a police officer for 14 years, said it was her first time delivering a baby.

After delivering the baby, Sergeant Motalane and Constable Lebitsa took the mother and her baby boy to the hospital to be assessed using their private vehicle. The mother and the child were admitted to the hospital and the child was declared healthy and strong.
