Sasol Highveld Photography Club showcases exceptional talent
The Sasol Highveld Photography Club held its monthly meeting in early September, with members once again producing an impressive collection of photographs.
The club’s photographers continue to demonstrate a high level of technical skill, while their creative approach to selecting and interpreting subjects allows their imaginations to shine through.
Monthly meetings provide an ideal opportunity for members to connect, share ideas and learn from one another. Wouter Labuschagne from Midlens in Middelburg judged the September competition.
Members meet on the first Friday of every month, usually at the Scrum Inn at the Sasol Club. In addition to the judging of photographs, the meetings include informative talks and discussions on a variety of photography-related topics.
The monthly competition allows photographers to have their work assessed and awarded points according to its standard. Recognition includes Certificates of Merit, as well as gold, silver and bronze awards. Special honours are also presented for Best Senior, Best Junior and Best Set Subject.
Entries are submitted in several categories, including Monochrome, Landscape and Nature.
The Bulletin regularly features the Certificate of Merit and Gold award-winning photographs, along with the three monthly Best photographs.
The following images were selected as the September winners:
Best Senior Photograph is “Very Misty Morning” by Sussa Pelser

Best Junior Photograph is “In The Eye of Tiger” by Ina Annandale

Best Set Subject is “Sasol” by DNE Smit
