As President Ramaphosa announced the Level 2 restrictions tonight, one could feel the country shake as people jumped up in jubilation! The whole country is moving to Level 2 and with restrictions being lifted, life is slowly but surely coming back to “normal” or the new normal we have become accustomed to.
This is what is allowed under Level 2 lockdown:
The National State of Disaster has been extended to 15 September.

The sale of alcohol is allowed from Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 5 pm.
The sale of cigarettes and tobacco products is permitted.
Gyms and fitness centres may open.
Travel between provinces is allowed for any purpose.
Visits to family and friends are permitted.
Remains mandatory to wear a mask in public.
Parks, beaches and nature reserves may be opened for outdoor activities.
Restrictions on all social activities remain in place.
Sporting events will be allowed without spectators.

Restaurants may remain open with a curfew from 10 pm – 4 am.
Alcohol may be served in all licenced restaurants.
The number of guests remains limited to prevent spread of the virus.
The number of people in stores restaurants etc. still remains limited to ensure the prevention of spreading the virus. Although interprovincial travel has been opened, international travel is still banned and borders will not open as of yet.
It has been a long wait but it seems like everything is going back to the new normal.
