Letter to the editor

Dear Editor
In your edition of 9 February, you published an article regarding my team of cleaners, cleaning the streets of Embalenhle.
As the Project Manager for this project, I would just like to express my heartfelt gratitude for publishing this, 2 reasons:
Number one; you have not only lifted the overall morale of my entire team, you have given them the appreciation they deserve. As one can imagine litter picking is not a very appealing and appreciative job, so overall employee motivation has always been a bit of a struggle. But since your article it’s like the team has hope again. We are not only reaching but exceeding our scheduled time frames, and most importantly they now realise that someone is actually grateful for them and seeing the difference that they are trying to make. Thank you
Number two; since your article about the carcasses being dumped at Megabus, we have not had an incident like this again. It was a weekly struggle for my team to have to work in such revolting conditions, as the culprit always goes to dump at night when no one is there to take any action. This would mean having to schedule our TLB and tipper truck to go and clean the mess, instead of cleaning other critical areas which needed much more attention.
Thank you Bulletin for reporting on what really matters. Keep up the great work!
Thank you, Enkosi, Ngiyabonga, Gracias, Dankie!!!
Vanessa Grundlingh
Project Manager
