A journey of 1000 miles begins with 1 step and the first step was taken by 76 students from Jim van Tonder School in Bethal.
This past week 76 students from Jim van Tonder School attended two soft skills courses presented by Edumaks. This project was funded by IPP Mining and Materials Handling.

The courses that the students attended were an Interpersonal Skills course and a Job Search Skills course. These courses were presented to the students with their future in mind.
The courses were designed to ensure these students can use these skills once they enter the job market as possible candidates.

At the grand ceremony this morning each student received a certificate. There were also certificates handed out for different categories; Lady participant of the week, Gentleman participant of the week and Student of the week, but the main event was that of 9 bursaries that were awarded to nine lucky students.
The students who were awarded the bursaries only found out when their names were called to receive their bursary on stage.

The feedback that came from the whole week was that the students enjoyed the courses immensely and participated with a positive attitude every day.
