POLICE CLEAN UP THE STREETS FROM DAGGA AS TWO SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED WITH DAGGA

Nelspruit: Police from Piet Retief worked hard in cleaning up the streets from all forms of drugs, including dagga where they arrested two suspects, aged 43 and 38 on allegations of dealing in dagga yesterday, Monday 07 March 2022 in Piet Retief.

According to the report, police received information from some members of the public about suspects involved in the selling of dagga. The members then acted accordingly and upon arrival at a certain house in Ajax Compound (Piet Retief) found two men and immediately conducted a search whereby they discovered seven bags stashed with dagga.

The suspects were immediately arrested and charged for dealing in dagga. The seized dagga is estimated to worth almost R20 000 in street value.

The two male suspects are expected to appear before the Piet Retief Magistrate’s Court today, Tuesday 08 March 2022 facing the said charges.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has welcomed the arrest and thanked members of the community for their relentless efforts in alerting police about criminal activities. “The collaboration between police and the public is really yielding positive results. Working together going forward will also assist us in eradicating all forms of drugs in the society ” emphasized the General.
