A 64-year-old man is expected to appear before the Barberton Magistrate Court on Monday following his arrest on Friday by members of the Serious Organised Crime Investigation in Nelspruit for alleged copper theft.
Information was received about the owner of a scrap metal dealer who was selling suspected stolen copper cables.

The Hawks members accompanied by private investigators proceeded to the address and on arrival the team positively identified the alleged stolen property and the suspect failed to produce any documents to lawfully possesses them.
The suspect was arrested and investigation led the team to his business where other suspected Telkom stolen copper cables were found and seized.

The value of the cables still to be determined.
