Preliminary investigations revealed that the 28-year-old man, who works for a delivery company, allegedly raped the girl at her home.

The suspect apparently went to the victim’s house to deliver a parcel and upon realising that she was alone, raped her.

He called the mother of the victim and explained everything.

The mother summoned the police to come with her to her house and the suspect was arrested at the scene.

He is expected to appear at the Belfast Periodical Court tomorrow, Monday, 13 July 2020.

Meanwhile, on 30 June 2020, the Nelspruit Regional Court, sentenced 31-year-old Bongani Kubhayi to 33 years imprisonment for various brutal crimes he committed against a 64-year-old woman.

Out of the 33 years, 10 were for rape, 15 for robbery with aggravating circumstances, 5 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and 3 years for house breaking.

The court has directed that all the counts run concurrently with the robbery charge for the purpose of sentence.

He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm and his name will be registered in the national sex offenders register.

The sentences spiral from an incident where Kubhayi on 27 July 2013 broke into the house belonging to the victim, raped her, assaulted her and robbed her of her personal belongings before absconding the scene.
