Covid-19 positive case at Oranjegloed Primary, Secunda

One member of the teaching staff at Oranjegloed Primary tested positive for COVID-19.

In a letter to the parents, the Principal Mr Jan van Rensburg informed parents of the case. The letter to the parents was widely circulated with the Bulletin receiving several copies on various platforms.

In the letter, Jan also indicated that it is not a Grade 7 educator and that the Educator and her colleagues had been sent home for self-isolation for the next 14 days.

It must be reiterated that is not a Grade 7 educator. The colleagues that were sent home for self-isolation were all in close contact with the affected educator.
All relevant departments were informed of this, such as the Department of Health and the Department of Education, positive case at Oranjegloed Primary.

The Bulletin spoke to the school and confirmed that the school will be closed for today to facilitate the sanitation of the school and affected areas.
There is no cause for any panic at this stage as all safety precautions were taken.

All the schools recently received compliance training.

All school in Western and Eastern Goven Mbeki district had to send people to be trained.

Sister Nkosi is from the Department of Health and Mr M is from Departement of Education. The expected procedures and regulations were communicated to all attendees.

This was implemented and perfected in the days leading to the reopening of the schools so that when the Gr 12 and Gr 7 learners returned, schools were ready.
