On 21 and 22 February 2024, Sasol Secunda held public participation sessions in eMbalenhle, Secunda and Leandra. The objective of the sessions was to give community members an opportunity to engage Sasol on its integrated emission reduction initiatives and progress.
Sasol’s roadmap and environmental investment include:
- Reduce environmental footprint through improved energy efficiency
- R11bn Invested in the different elements of improved energy
- 2014 499 (799%) emission sources compliant to minimum emission standards
- 2017 618 (98%) emission sources compliant to minimum emission standards
- 2019 622 (98%) emission sources compliant to minimum emission standards
- 2025 >R7bn Minimum emission standard compliance (except for boiler SO2 emissions)
- 2030 R25bn Reserved for the implementation of the integrated emission and greenhouse gas reduction solution.
