The monthly Sasol Highveld Photography Club meeting took place on the 14th of August.
Several photographers entered their photographs in the club competition. The photographers excelled again with their photographs. A record number of photographs were entered for the August meeting
Johan Brits judged the entries. He travelled from Vanderbijlpark to share some knowledge and insights.

Members are also graded by their skill levels and receive points to progress to a higher level. The aim is for photographers to improve by having their photos judged and critiqued. By taking note of the guests’ comments, they should be able to improve.
Different “certificates” are awarded to the photographs. These are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Certificate of Merit (COM). If the author (photographer) does everything wrong in a photo, for his/her skill level, such as being out of focus, he/she will receive a bronze. Doing everything right will result in gold or even a COM.

The Best Photograph in the Set Subject division was “Curves in Nature” by Leon Pelser
The Best Photograph in the Senior division was “Redbull gives you wings” by Hanno de Beer
The Best Photograph in the Junior division was “Lost in Colour” by Ina Annandale
