Joseph Nyalungu also known as Big Joe (56) and his accomplice Elvis Mulimi (50) appeared before the White River Magistrate on Wednesday for alleged kidnapping and murder committed in February 2010 in Hazyview.
The appearance follows the duo’s arrest on Tuesday in an intelligence driven joint operation by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Mpumalanga, Tactical Response Team, Special Task Force, Mpumalanga Tracing Team, Crime Intelligence, Local Criminal Record Centre and Detectives.
It is alleged that in February 2010 the body of the victim, Willy Shipalane (36) as found floating in the Bushbuckridge dam.

An investigation was launched which ultimately investigation led to the above mentioned suspects being taken in for questioning.
In April 2020 the case was transferred to the tracing team whereby further investigation led to re-arrest of the suspects.

The case was postponed to the 28 July 2020 for formal bail application.
