    eMbalenhle police makes swift arrest in extension 18

    The investigation is still in progress and all accused will appear in Evander Magistrates Court on Thursday, 3 October.

    A mother of 2 young girls, between the ages of 5 and 7, has been arrested for Child Neglect and Failure to Report a Crime, after her one little girl told her mother that three (3) well known males raped her when she was left alone at home while the mother went out with her boyfriend.
    The mother told the little girl not to tell anyone about this, but the little girl told one of the neighbours. The neighbour reported the matter to an off-duty police officer, Constable Mbonane, who stays in the same street. Constable Mbonane opened a case of Rape, Child Neglect and Failure to Report the crime. The mother of the child and three males were arrested in the afternoon of 1 October by eMbalenhle SAPS Vispol along with Sgt P. Monagane and Constable Mtsweni from Secunda FCS unit. 
    The investigation is still in progress and all accused will appear in Evander Magistrates Court on Thursday, 3 October.
    The mother was charged with Child Neglect and Failure to report Crime and the three accused males were charged with Rape and Molestation. 
    Well done to the neighbour who helped and listened to the young girl when she spoke up. That is a true act of bravery.
