Thieves caught red-handed

Secunda/Trichardt: Several suspected thieves were caught red-handed while stealing household goods last Wednesday. A Secunda 911-assist member saw four suspects exiting a field onto the N17 with a curve TV and surround sound. The member followed them while calling for assistance on Zello. GTR, JTR and Stratcon responded. They chased and caught two suspects while the other two suspects fled. The robbers’ vehicle, a white Toyota Condor, was found with the household goods. The suspects were detained at Trichardt SAPS.

Suspects fire shots at security officers

Evander: In the early hours of 26 February two security officers were patrolling around Evander Gold Mine properties when unknown suspects fired shots at them
According to the witnesses, the suspects approached the security personnel in the patrol vehicle that was parked at 7# main store. They pointed a firearm at the driver and demanded their firearms and cell phones. After the driver told them that they don’t have cell phones or firearms, they took him to the back of the bakkie, assaulted him. The suspects fired several shots at the officers. One of the officers died instantly. Police are looking for any person who can help with information to contact: W/O Gloy of Evander Police Station
