Sydney Mashaba (44), Frans Nathibela (45) and Khayelile Welcome Ngubane (38) have been sentenced in the Evander Regional Court to life imprisonment on 12 July.
The three men were found guilty for murdering a police officer on 18 February this year.
Const Phumlani Nxumalo (44) was off duty on the day of the murder and parked his vehicle alongside the road at Kinross, Afghanistan.
The three men approached him and ordered him to get out of the vehicle.
Const Nxumalo tried to defend himself and was hit over the head with a firearm.
He fell down and the trio sped off with his vehicle which was later found abandoned at Duba Park next to a tavern.
Const Nxumalo tried to get up and run to get help, but he succumbed and died of his injuries a few meters from the scene.

They then went to Middelburg where they committed robbery.
They were arrested on 20 February and investigations positively linked them with all three cases.
They were found guilty on 10 other charges including hijacking, the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, the theft of a motor vehicle and robbery.
