Jason skydives for a living

Jason Richardson (42) recently opened a skydiving club in Secunda.
He did his first jump 24-years ago and has been skydiving professionally for 17 years.
He grew up in eMhalahleni (Witbank) and lived there and also in Johannesburg for 15 years.
Richardson worked as a project manager before the skydiving bug bit him.
He said the decision to trade project management for skydiving was a lifestyle choice.
As a project manager he used to work 12 to 14 hours, seven days a week.
“Skydiving was something I have always wanted to do and after my first jump, the bug bit,” he said.
He has travelled to about 25 countries to skydive.
He currently has 2 700 jumps behind his name.
Richardson enjoys the outdoors and exercising in the gymnasium.
“I also enjoy introducing people to the sport of skydiving.”
He decided to open a skydiving club in Secunda because it is centrally located and has a safe airfield.
“Secunda is a city that is growing and now the locals have the opportunity to be exposed to skydiving,” said Richardson.
