The Mshiniwami students who began their protest march at the cemetery in Secunda this morning, are marching to Secunda and Evander.
They got violent and first set a sign, apparently left by management, that read:’Gone Fishing’, alight.
They then started throwing stones at police and security guards of Skyhill.
The security guards started shooting with paint ball guns while the police answered the protesters with rubber bullets.
According to editor of The Bulletin, Arisja Misselhorn, the protesters split into two groups.
One headed to Secunda and the other group to Evander, but police intervened and the students ran into the field.
However they lit the grass and put stones in the road.
They also destroyed road signs as they marched towards Secunda and Evander.
Motorists are warned to be careful when using this road.
