Two men were arrested in different cases for the possession of dagga and the possession of 43 packs of substances suspected to be Nyaope.
The man with the dagga was arrested at a house in Kleynhans Street.
Bethal Police and members of the Secunda K9 unit worked together and raided the house.
Thabiso Mathebula appeared in the Bethal Magistrates Court.
In the other case, Thabo Mahlangu was searched and Const Thomas Mogadime found the 43 packs of substances in his clothes.
Mahlangu was taken to Bethal Police Station and the case is being investigated.
“We are concerned about the increasing number of drug dealers in our town,” said Const Mogadime, communicaitons officer at Bethal Police.
“As police officers we need to put an end to this and we will use any source that can help to lead to the arrest of the drug dealers who are destroying the future of our youth.
“Crime in our area is increasing because of the drug addicts who are so addicted that they will even commit crime to get drugs if they don’t have money to support their habits.
“The drug dealers are not even using drugs because they know that it destroys lives.”
