The monthly Ops. Kolgans from Unit Bandwacht was held on Saturday at the Kruik Café in Secunda.
Several members attended this get-together of fellow veterans, to enjoy a few hours collectively with wives and children.
It too was an occasion to welcome Lt. Encee van Huyssteen as a member of unit Brandwacht, his certificate was handed to him by Cosmos Sector 1’s chairperson.
We have placed several articles and photos regarding the work of the South African Defence Force Association (SADFA) this past year and therefore wish to inform our readers of the philosophy behind the SADFA veterans’ organisation.
The South African Defence Force Association (SADFA) was founded on 14 February 2009 to act in the interest of all old members who rendered a service during the existence of the Union Defence Force (UDF) in 1964 and the of the existence of the SA Defence Force (SADF) in 1994 and the SANDF after 1994. This includes members who served as National Servicemen, in the Commandos, in the Reserve Force and the Permanent Force. Members in uniform as well as civilians who served in the SA Army, SA Air Force, SA Navy and the SA Health Service qualify to join as Full Members
As set out in the Constitution, SADFA undertakes amongst other things:
~ to act in the interest of all our members and to promote the interests of our members within and outside of the Association.
So that: “Veterans Creating the Future”
The Association is managed by our National Executive Council (NEC) which is elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Join SADFA and be part of a Unit in your area and work on different projects to make your community a better place.
