Hoërskool Oosterland would like to thank Westvaal Isuzu Secunda for the bakkie! The bakkie will be taking the trailer with all the instruments to Durban next week for the South African Championships.

The sounds of marching bands have fascinated people for a very long time. Trumpets and other instruments blaring sounds into the air on the rhythm of snare and base drums always draw crowds to the occasion.
Oosterland hosted their annual Tattoo on Saturday. It was a splendid affair!
The evening started with drum majorettes from Laerskool Kruinpark and Laerskool Secunda. Dancers from the Oosterland Revue and the Oosterland Band Dance Girls also entertained the crowd.
The real reasons for the Tattoo proved to be of high calibre. The Springs Boy’s High Drumline and the HS Oosterland Drumline captivated the crowd with intriguing rhythms and moves.
The two bands, Springs Boys’ High Marching Band and Hoërskool Oosterland Marsorkes, played popular songs whilst marching and moving to the rhythms. The evening ended with a combined band playing.
Hoërskool Oosterland Marsorkes will compete in the South African Championships in a few days and The Bulletin would like to wish them all the best. We are confident that they will make Secunda and in particular Hoërskool Oosterland proud.
