Wednesday, January 30, an early get together of a motor biker’s group at their premises situated in the second street on the right after the turn off to Marietjie School.
This gathering of bikers is normally frowned upon by the public at large.
This collective, however, was arranged by Pastor Jackie van Dyk of the Bikers Church Association (CMA) Secunda.
It is a sad fact of life that at the first mention of bikers coming to your town, children are locked up in the proverbial cupboards and doors are locked and secured.
This as a result of the sometimes wicked, immoral and unscrupulous behaviours in the history of bikers.
Pastor Jackie reassured the attendees that this was not so with the world-wide CMA association.
Pastor Jackie opened the event with a Scripture reading from Matthew 5, Jesus’ sermon on the mount and prayer. This is the Scripture where the Lord teaches his disciples how to bring, teach and spread the Word.
Invitations were conveyed to all churches in the TEKSA area with the specific reason to introduce the work of the CMA.
“The CMA is here to stay, is not here to “gain” members of other congregations”, Jackie said.
Jackie also said: “a letter of confirmation from the person’s own Christian founded congregation is a prerequisite before an individual can become a member of the CMA”.
The CMA Secunda has reached out to them in destitute, assisted with events to upliftment of the lives of those less fortunate, in the past and will do so in years to come.
CMA’s primary function is to win motorcyclist to Christ. Jesus said: ”follow me and I will make you fishers of men”. The tool used to “fish with” is your motorcycle. The message of saving grace is uncompromising the same as Jesus taught, but presented from a motorcycle. Can you think of anything more exciting than taking the Good News to others on your bike?
