On Wednesday, 5 December, CANSA Cosmos had a volunteer’s day lunch to thank everyone for their contributions throughout the year. Eat a Lot was packed with ladies and gentlemen enjoying the happy and sad atmosphere. The sadness came when Natasha Philpott of CANSA announced that she has resigned and will not be with CANSA next year because she is moving away. A few tears were shed, but promises of staying in touch were made. Working so closely with all the volunteers and doing so much for this great cause throughout the year, losing Natasha is a big loss for all who have met her and dealt with her. Gizelle Bosman thanked everyone for all they had done and hoped that next year would be just as successful and that she would see the same faces again plus a few new ones. After wiping their tears away, smiles shone through once again on everyone’s faces when the huge and delicious cake topped with Maltesers and other, salty and sweet, bites came out for everyone to enjoy. – Ané Prinsloo
