The time is now for Secunda’s own Dominator’s Den to compete in an international arena at Sun City Resort for Brave Combat Federation 19 and Fightstar 37.
This will be the first Brave event and first international Mixed Martial Arts event in South Africa!
BRAVE Combat Federation was born in Bahrain, at the heart of the Middle East, as a truly global Mixed Martial Arts Promotion. It was founded under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Brave’s goal is to unite the world through the sports of Mixed Martial Arts, giving people the chance to expose and value their own culture but, at the same time, to experience others. Brave is about testing your skills, pushing yourself to your limits and compete at the highest level. Above all, Brave is about people, and how they’re writing history and building a legacy in the Middle East. (Source: https://www.bravefights.com/company/)
This event will be the return of the infamous Secunda local and Dominator’s Den owner, Cedric “The Dominator” Doyle and for Secunda’s favourite Paul “Piksteel” Ronge after his nail-biting three-round defeat of his opponent at Fightstar 36. They will be up against Gareth Buirski from Johannesburg and Francois “The Business” Meyer from Potchefstroom. This will be the first international event for both Cedric and Paul or, in MMA lingo, first international card.
Secunda also has three other local fighters from Dominator’s Den representing at Fightstar 37: Stefan “The Bezerker” Diedericks, Vince “His Majesty” Nkosi and Smit “Malboer” Steyn. They are all already in fight camp with their coach (Cedric) and assistant coach (Paul) and getting ready to show their steel at the event.
To fight at any big event is an honour, but to fight on such a big stage for the first time ever in South Africa takes hard work, commitment and definitely self-discipline.
Both these events will be hosted at Sun City Resort. Fightstar 37 will take place on Friday, 7 December and Brave on Saturday, 8 December. Keep an eye open and you can watch both these events live through streaming! – Ané Prinsloo
