Umdzabu wins at Khula

First place out of 23 groups.

Umdzabu Cultural Group took part in the Khula Music and Dance Competition in Balfour on Saturday 23 June. The group, which is based in Lebohang, came first place out of 23 groups in the competition after wowing the judges with their performance of a traditional Swati dance. The event was an initiative by i-Afrika Theatre Education in partnership with Dipaleseng Municipality and featured performances in gumboot dancing, traditional music and dancing, as well as Pantsula and modern dance.
Umdzabu Cultural Group’s performance has qualified them to perform at the Ingoma Music and Dance Competition which is set to take place on 14 July in Tsakane, Gauteng. The group director, Mr Dumisani Nkambula, thanked the group for their determination, team spirit and respect for one another.
