Duo appear in court for conspiracy to commit murder

Susara Elsie Burger and Johannes Hendrik Robert Jacobs appeared in Nelspruit Magistrate`s Court on Thursday 3 May, after they were arrested by members of Nelspruit Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit on 12 March and were released on R1 500 bail each.
On 5 February 2018 Elsie allegedly colluded with Jacobs to assassinate her husband.
Jacobs hired a hit man whom she met around Nelspruit.
The hitman, who was offered R15 000 to carry out the crime, reported the matter to the Hawks and a sting operation was conducted which lead to the arrest of the pair.
The case has been postponed to 6 June for Regional Court date.
The Acting-Provincial Head of Mpumalanga Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Brigadier, Obed Ngwenya, would like to thank the whistleblowers who keep on giving information and also encourage others who have information about criminal activities which is taking place in their vicinity to report it. “Our investigators always follow-up on information provided to make sure that perpetrators are brought to book,” he concluded”.
