Terra Nova Village’s newest expansion opened on Wednesday 21 March. Situated on the N17 adjacent to Trichardt, the 37-store mall’s opening attracted an eager crowd for its first day of full operation.
Official ribbon cutting by MEC of Culture, Thandi Shongwe, and Govan Mbeki’s Municipal Executive Mayor, Thandi Ngxonono was carried out at the mall’s main entrance.
The 5500 square metreshopping mall is designed in a leisurely farm style tradition, and includes an OK Grocer store, liquor store, a pharmacy, banks, restaurants and other franchised and independent businesses with 400 fronted, easy-access parking bays.
Shops have the convenience of LP gas with generator backup to keep the lights on, allowing customers the option to shop on those tough load-shedding days that we’ve come to know so well.
Currently, Terra Nova features a retirement village alongside the mall, which is the first centre in the area to boast an array of specialty shops, such as a pet shop, a vet, an estate agency, a perfume shop and a tantalising chocolate shop and wine bar. The area is expanding rapidly with the recent launch of The Meadows development of 350 full title deed units and the retirement village.
According to Ms Mandy Loubser, centre manager, there are still office spaces to let from the landlord, TroniCorp.
A second wing, which is likely to be completed by mid July, will introduce a fresh experience for young and old alike, in the form of an iJump Trampoline Park. This national iJump franchise will be the 8th outlet in South Africa, but the first in Mpumalanga.
Plans to expand the centre also include a Total filling station with an off ramp from the N17 highway.
