N17 claims life again!

The Bulletin Newspaper

Saturday night saw the N17 closed for more than three hours as a result of an accident that occurred at approximately 19H45.
The exact cause of the accident is still unknown. Initial reports indicate that a Nissan X-trail ploughed into an oncoming truck, causing the X-trail to spin off the road. A second vehicle followed the X-trail and was also damaged in the collision but it could not be determined what the second vehicle hit that caused all the damage to that car. The driver sustained slight injuries. Bystander’s stated that a fourth vehicle was also involved but managed to drive away. The truck was severely damaged but the driver was uninjured. The X-trail was damaged extensively and was barely recognisable. The driver of the X-trail sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was trapped beneath the vehicle.
Emergency personnel struggled to free the body but managed to do so at 22h30.
The driver of the fourth vehicle could perhaps shed some light on the course of events and The Bulletin would like to appeal to anyone that could give more information to contact The Bulletin or Trichardt police at 017 638 0241.
