Secunda – A 15-year-old high school learner sustained injuries after being assaulted, dragged by a motor vehicle and robbed of his Huawei P10 lite phone.
Ethan Venter walked to the shops on Sunday afternoon to buy himself a chocolate. Upon his return, however, three coloured men, allegedly in their 20’s and driving an Emerald Green VW Polo, slowed down, opened the doors and started assaulting him. “One of the occupants hit him on his head and forced him to the ground. They robbed him of his phone which was in his pocket,” his mom, Chantal, said.
According to her, Ethan started fighting back and the fight led back to the car. They tried to force him into the car, but when they realized it was no use, they started driving off, with Ethan still clinging to the car. About 100m further Ethan let go and asked a man who was in his car at the side of the road to follow them. However, Ethan’s parents aren’t sure if this man knows where they live and they have no way of making contact with him.
Ethan went home to call his parents, where after his dad took a car to try and locate the crooks and his mom took him to hospital.
Ethan sustained injuries and scrape wounds to his back, elbow, tailbone, right knee and hip. His left knee sustained serious injuries and he is also full of bumps. According to Chantal, he has one wound that is too deep for stitches.
A case was opened at Secunda SAPS on Sunday evening and is currently under investigation.
The three male suspects are apparently all skinny, in their 20’s and the driver of the VW has a goatee beard.
