An eMbalenhle acapella choir which started with 5 members in 1992, was recently nominated to partake in the National Gospel Awards festival.
Amadodana Ase Mbalenhle, will compete against four other choirs in Nelspruit in December and was nominated for their CD titled Reo Ho Boka Morena, which was released earlier this year.
“Being nominated was an amazing feeling, I’ve never felt like that before,” choir member, Goodman Sibeko said.
This enthusiastic and motivated choir is 18 members strong and wants to go bigger. They currently perform at weddings, farewells and conferences, but want to travel the world. “If we can get sponsors, we can go anywhere to spread the gospel,” Goodman said.
Members from different churches are part of this gospel-spreading initiative and plan to bring out another CD next year. Their first CD was called Umalusi and won them the Mpumalanga gospel awards in 2015.
If you want to help them win the nomination, send “National Amadodana – Amadodana Ase Mbalenhle” to 34605. Sms costs R2.00. Closing date is 8 December 2017.
