11 People dead and scores more injured

A series of collisions has left the Govern Mbeki residents shocked this weekend.
Langamed South Ambulance Services and other emergency services responded to a high number of collisions that has left 11 people dead and scores more injured. This figure was correct at 19H00 Monday night.
On Saturday morning, a man died on the R546 near Evander’s Walker Park Golf Club. Two others were injured in this collision.
Shortly thereafter another vehicle overturned on the R546 near the Brendon Village turn off. Five people sustained injuries.
On Saturday night, a man was killed on the Graceland road. As per reports, he lost control over his vehicle and rolled down the side of a bridge. Both he and a female passenger were ejected. The motorist was declared dead on the scene by paramedics. The female passenger sustained critical injuries and was later flown by helicopter to a Johannesburg hospital. Shortly after, a man was injured just a few kilometres from that accident after his vehicle left the road and crashed up an embankment.
Later that night two people were killed on the N17 when an Audi and an Avanza collided. Three more people died soon after in a two vehicle-collision.
On Saturday afternoon, a woman was injured after the bakkie she was travelling in overturned near Secunda High School. Rescue services used the jaws of life to free her.
The road between Bethal and Standerton contributed to the death toll. 2 People died when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.
Elsewere a passenger was flung out of a vehicle when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it overturned.
The passenger was transported to hospital but passed away after arrival.
