Selina Mavuso helped to knit blocks for a blanket during the Dawn’s Mandela Day celebrations in eMbalenhle on Saturday.

Dawn (DA Women’s Network) already began celebrating Mandela Day on Saturday when they visited the Velile Victim Empowerment Centre that caters for vulnerable and abused children.
The women from Dawn took cupcakes and cold drinks to the children. They also invited 67 women to knit for 67 minutes.
The blocks knitted will be made into blankets that will be donated to the empowerment centre.
About 22 children are permanent residents at this centre which is completely dependent on donations.
The women were also spoiled with bread and soup and DA councillors, Estelle Swart, Tonny Madikezela and Mariaan Chamberlain also attended the event.
