Marinus Strydom recently took over the reigns from Frank van Papendorp as Highveld Ridge Primary School’s new school principal.

Marinus Strydom started as the new principal of Highveld Ridge Primary School on 1 April.
He has been working as a history and Afrikaans teacher at this school for the past 26 years and became Head of Department in 2007.
The former principal, Frank van Papendorp, retired, but is still working at the school until the end of this year.
“It is a big privilege to still have Frank here until the end of this year,” said Marinus.
“He is helping me take over the reigns as principal.
“I have learned a lot from him while I was his Head of Department.”
Frank retired at the end of March and he wants to expand his swimming classes when he has more time on hand.
He gives swimming lessons to children and will soon also include adults.
Marinus’vision for the school is to achieve excellence through motivation.
“You can only reach excellence if you can motivate people to be the best they can be.”
