Autumn Games “Age of Hope” Tournament is the brainchild of Mfanyedwa Ntshalintshali, corporate communications practitioner at the Council for Concern Youth Institute. He was also a caddy in his youth.
Golf is one of several sport codes promoted by the Council for Concern Youth Institute.
Mfanyedwa is the founding member this institute when he saw the need to keep children occupied with sport and to have their parents involved as well.
The first tournament was held at Bronkhorstpruit as “Summer Games”.
Other sport codes include soccer, netball and boxing.
The games later expanded to Delmas where the “Winter Games” is now an annual event.
Mfanyedwa is now working to implement these games in eMbalenhle.
He also secures sponsors for the events.
Funds are needed for various necessities, such as venues, sport gear and kits for the athletes, coaches and medals.
