Police arrest two at liquor outlet


Two suspects were arrested in eMbalenhle last night after they were cornered by police while they were breaking into a liquor outlet Extension 17.
These suspects, aged 29 and 32 broke into the tavern where the Ethiopian national was found dead and where a Malawian national was last seen before he disappeared on Wednesday (15 March).
According to information the police received, the employees left the premises at 18:00 and received a phone call at about 22:30 and were told people are breaking in.
Police responded to the call and found the suspects at the tavern, hiding in the bathroom.
A pick axe, a screw driver and 15 bottles of liquor were also hidden in the bathroom.
The suspects will appear in the Evander Magistrate’s Court soon.
