Evander High School gets social worker

Evander High School recently welcomed Mamosa Phatang as the new social worker for their school.
Mamosa is currently a final year student at Unisa and will be completing her degree in Social Work in June this year.
“We are very excited to have our own social worker, youth coach and peer mentor,” said Jacques van der Westhuizen, spokesman of the school.
“A school is a centre of excellence that nurtures young minds,” sasid Mamosa.
“It is a delicate, safe and secure environment where communities, parents and the government entrust the welfare and well-being of the youth.
“I am happy to be placed in a youthful environment and to be part of a winning team that produces, promotes and protects abilities of learners and to address issues that our youth face daily.”
Mamosa currently visits Evande High School twice a week.
She will soon start working there daily.
