The Cansa Relay for Life will take place on 4 March at the Sasol Club.

The annual Cansa Relay for Life is taking place at the Sasol Club this year on 4 March.
This is Cansa’s biggest fund raiser of the year and money raised here is used to support local cancer patients.
Anyone can take part in the Relay for Life and a team comprises of 10 members.
The Relay for Life is an event that lasts from dusk until dawn during which time each team must have at least one member on the track at all times.
Cancer affects everyone – one in four South Africans will be affected by cancer in their lifetime, either by a family member, friend, colleague or themselves.
The Luminaria ceremony is the highlight of any Relay and is dedicated to those who have lost their battle to cancer, in honour of those who beat the disease and those who are still fighting it.
Personally decorated Luminaria bags form the outline of the track, in remembrance of, or as a dedication to a very special warrior who lost the battle or in honour of a courageous cancer survivor who is still fighting or who has won the battle against cancer.
Candles placed into each Luminaria Bag are lit after dark at the beginning of this very inspirational and emotional ceremony.
These candles burn throughout the night, reminding us why we continue to fight the disease.
CANSA Relay For Life is a Celebration of Hope and Survivorship.
