More than 1 000 enter Sasol races


This year’s annual Sasol Secunda Marathon was overflowing with entries of athletes coming from all over the country to participate.
Even the 2015 women’s winner of the Two Oceans Marathon and the Comrades, Caroline Wöstmann, competed in the 21km race.
This she won with ease. She completed the race in a time of 1:26:20. 10.
Wöstmann was the first woman to cross the 21km race’s finish line.
Wöstmann came 19th overall with 376 runners competing in the 21km race.
Per Ockert Stoop from the Sasol Club the organisers had to print extra entry numbers to accommodate all the runners.
More than 340 runners took part in the 10km race and 437 long distant runners took on the 42km race.
There were also many people taking part in the fun run.
Former winner, Colin Khoza (Eskom) is again the overall winner of the 21km race, finishing fast in 1:08:04.
Lucas Jani (Nedbank) is the overall winner in the 42km race which he completed in a time of 2:26:29.
