Sasol hands over 26 new houses

Here are Nzama Baloyi (Acting Senior Vice President Sasol Mining), new home owner, Njabulo Gumede and the Executive Mayor of Govan Mbeki Municipality, Florah Noliqhwa Maboa-Boltman at the hand over event.

Sasol Mining handed over 26 newly built houses to first-time homeowners in eMbalenhle on Monday, 9 January.
This initiative is part of Sasol’s home ownership housing project and brought the number of houses Sasol sponsored to 62.
Sasol’s Head of Group Media Relations, Alex Anderson said: “The home ownership housing project forms part of Sasol Mining’s Social and Labour Plan (SLP), which aims to improve the living conditions of its mining employees in the surrounding host communities.
“Sasol Mining provides subsidies to qualifying permanent employees, who are not eligible for Reconstruction and Development (RDP) houses but also, do not qualify for home loans from commercial banks.
“Working together with First National Bank, Sasol Mining employees are guided and assisted through the rigorous process of becoming home owners and access bank bond.
“These first-time home owners are also provided with financial planning and management skills they need to ensure that they are able to service their subsidised home loans sustainably.”
These 26 houses form part of the third phase of 100 houses for planned eMbalenhle home ownership housing project.
The other 20 houses have been completed in Secunda and will be handed over officially in February.
