Lolla Mokoena (15) is another step closer to reaching her dream of competing in the next Olympic Games.
This pupil of Hoërskool Secunda is one of the top South African prints and hurdles athletes in her age group.
Prommac, an established maintenance and shutdown contractor in the oil and petrochemical industry, is sending Lolla to the Usain Bolt Training Academy in Jamaica from 11 to 19 December.
“We have decided to back Lolla all the way to the 2020 Olympic Games,” says Melissa Meyer of Prommac.
“We have recognised Lolla’s talent and believe that with the right coaching and training, she is a strong candidate for the Olympics.”
Only athletes who impress the Bolt team are accepted to the Training Academy.
According to Melissa, Lolla was accepted into the training camp because of her excellent race results.
International coaches and sport scouts will also be at the camp.
“We support Lolla because of her dedication to her sport and academics, and her humbleness even though she has achieved so much,” Melissa said.
