Kriel suspects out on bail


Bail of R8 000 each was granted in the Kriel Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 16 September to nine men, two of whom are police detectives, arrested amongst others on suspicion conspiring to execute cash in transit robberies in Mpumalanga, attempted murder and Possession of Unlicensed firearms.
Seven of the men who had been arrested on 31 July after a shootout with the police in Boskbok Street were released on bail along with Constables Tami Kubeka (38) and Daniel Mahlangu (30).
The two cops were arrested at their respective homes on 9 September.
After the shootout between the suspected gang and the police, the Hawks seized firearms, suspected stolen laptops and cell phones, vehicles, SANDF and private security bullet proof vests and commercial explosives.
The case was postponed to 17 January.
