The Secunda Spring Festival from 30 September to 9 October promises to keep the adrenalin pumping with various sport activities.
Fishing:
The huge cash prizes in the week-long bass angling competition are enough to lure anglers to the fishing waters of the dams in the green strips of Secunda.
R15 000 is up for grabs for the person who catches the heaviest bass between 1 and 7 October. The second prize is R10 000 and third prize R5 000.
Anglers have four dams to choose from. They are allowed to make use of lures and flies only.
Entry fee is R300 per person.
And before you say that catching a big one in the local dams is impossible, go look at the bass caught by Pieter Haywood on 7 September. He hooked a bass weighing more than 9kg.
Rugby:
Join the Sasol Rugby Club for a Sevens rugby tournament on 1 October.
Anyone can enter a team. You can enter your team into the super league, the social league or the ladies league. Entry fee is R500 per team, but there are limited slots still open.
So hurry up and enter before 16 September to avoid disappointment.
There are cash prizes to be won. Bring your whole family and enjoy the festivities. For more information and to book your team, phone Mariëtte Kruger on 082 461 2224 or send her an email to mariette.kruger@sasol.com.
