Recipe: Bella Cibo pizza


Hendrik and Maggie Byleveld, owners of Bella Cibo since November last year, shared his recipe for a Bacon & Cherry pizza with The Bulletin.
Hendrik believes in only using good quality cheese such as Bonita, Clover or Lancewood cheese.
He also believes in generous amounts of toppings – more than the average pizza maker.
The ingredients for this pizza (large size) are:
A dough ball – 300g
Pizza Tomato paste – 50g
Cheddar – 65g
Mozzarella – 65g
Bacon – 90g
Cherries – 30g
Work the dough into bottom of a large pizza pan.
Smear the tomato paste over the dough.
Sprinkle the bacon over the pizza base and spread it out.
Top evenly with cheese.
Place the cherries on top of the cheese.
The pizza is now ready to go to the oven.
Bake at 250˚C for 15 minutes.
Take out of the oven and slice into pieces.
Pizza is now ready to serve.
