Johan Rosslee from Lake Umuzi Waterfront hands Gert Hibbert, President of Pool Billiards South Africa (PBSA), a cheque of R100 000 as sponsorship to host the SA championships in Secunda.

The R100 000 sponsorship from local businessman, Johan Rosslee, to Pool Billiards South Africa last week is aimed at boosting the local economy over the next year.
The 2016 PBSA National 8-Ball Pool Championships were held at Graceland in Secunda from 26 April to 7 May.
Deonette Jonkers from Western Province won the Women’s Singles 8-Ball tournament, Frankie Lenders from CW is the Master’s Singles Winner and the Senior’s Singles Winner is Tewis Joubert from Gauteng.
Johan said the sponsorship will at least ensure that Secunda will be the host town for national tournaments during this year, as well as in 2017.
“This secures a conservatively estimated boost of about R4 million into the town per year,” said Johan.
Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club is a co-sponsor, providing the venue for the championships.
The next national tournaments to be held at Graceland will be the SA U18 and U23 Championships from 3 to 7 October and the SA Opens Pool Championships from 9 to 15 October.
